Into your hands
Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.
His last words, and the completion of the garden's "not my will." There is nothing left to surrender after this. The fifth week ends where his life ended, in the place of total trust, the little flock resting in the Father's good pleasure with nothing held back. You will not do this perfectly. Nobody does. But you have done it a little, this week, with meals and wants and fears, and a little is how the mustard seed starts. Today, rest completely. Feast. The last movement begins tomorrow, and it is the rising.
Today's practice
Before sleep tonight, lie still and say the words slowly: "into your hands." Repeat them with the breath until they become a fact you are resting inside.

A feast day. Eat with joy and with others. Rest. The fast resumes after supper.
