You are the light
You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can't be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand.
Elsewhere he says "I am the light of the world." Here: "you are." He does not seem to think these conflict. The light he carried is the same light he sees in the people listening: fishermen, nobody's idea of the enlightened. You are the light, not you will be.
