I in you
In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
Three nestings: Christ in the Father, you in Christ, Christ in you. Not a chain of command but a single indwelling seen from three angles. And it is not something to believe; it is something to know, "in that day." This is what the tradition meant by Christ consciousness before the phrase existed: the direct knowing that the life of God is not outside you, pressing in, but inside you, shining out, and that the same is true of everyone you meet. Forty days ago the kingdom was within you. It still is. The difference is that now you have sat in it. Feast today. Then keep the hour tomorrow, and the day after, for the rest of your life.
Today's practice
Feast with people you love. Serve at the table. Tell no one what you have done these forty days unless they ask, and if they ask, tell them plainly. Tomorrow morning, before dawn, sit again.
The feast
The feast. Break every fast. Eat what you love, drink what you love, give thanks. Then, tomorrow, the daily fast and the sit resume, as how you live now.
By the calendar, today is Day ?.
